BUPI CLEANER® system improves process stability in machinery production:
Clean, efficient and environment-friendly
Fill manufactures specialised equipment for the automotive, aerospace, ski and wood processing industries, producing most mechanical parts on site. Since the turn of the years 2016/17, the parts are cleaned prior to varnishing in a BUPI CLEANER® POWERTEC PRO 7HP from BUPI Golser. Cleaning even big and heavy parts automatically with high throughput and low cleaning agent consumption improves the efficiency, ergonomics and environmental impact of Fill’s part production as well as the process stability in varnishing.
Leading manufacturers around the globe use equipment made by Fill Gesellschaft m.b.H. to produce automotive and aerospace components, skis and snowboards and wooden panels. From simple 30 x 30 mm brackets to machine base frames measuring 3 x 10 m, the Austrian family-owned company produces most of these parts on site.
Successor for older cleaning system wanted
Prior to varnishing, these parts need to be cleaned and degreased. For a long time, Fill had been using a spray cleaning system for the purpose. A single-tank system, it frequently required rinsing and blow-drying the parts by hand after cleaning. Furthermore, size and weight of the parts to clean were limited to 1.5 x 1.5 m and 750 kg. Larger parts had to be cleaned manually. The successor was to be a spray cleaning system using an aqueous solution again but be ready to clean much bigger parts. Loading and unloading was expected to require little or no strain.
MAP PAMMINGER GMBH, a manufacturer-independent supplier of cleaning systems and accessories, recommended a BUPI CLEANER® POWERTEC PRO from Salzburg-based premium manufacturer BUPI Golser Maschinenbau GmbH. In this single-chamber cleaning system with two tanks for cleaning solution and rinsing water, the parts are rotated on a turntable in the cleaning chamber while they are sprayed on from three sides with a hot cleaning agent at high pressure and flow rates, consequently rinsed with pure water and then dried by the process heat.
A benefit for both process and environment
The standard system installed at the Fill factory has a 1,700 x 1,700 x 1,000 mm usable size and can take parts weighing up to 1,500 kg. It was fitted with a custom feeding table for parts handling. It allows loading or unloading one of the grates while the other is in the system.
The better cleaning results achieved with the BUPI CLEANER® POWERTEC PRO enabled Fill to greatly improve the process stability of the varnishing. “The cleaning system has been working with great stability in two-shift operation. Requiring cleaning solution replacement only every three months, it has substantially reduced costs, standstills and the environmental impact”, says Günter Redhammer, Team Manager Component Manufacturing, Fill Gesellschaft m.b.H. „It is a worthwhile investment hedging our sustained growth.”
